Legendary group H.O.T. (Highfive Of Teenagers) has won a trademark lawsuit against former SM Entertainment CEO – Kim Kyung Wook! π
H.O.T. is one of the most important first-generation K-Pop bands to debut under the SM Entertainment banner and achieved huge success in Asia. ππ
Kim Kyung Wook claimed that he owned the trademark to the team name H.O.T and therefore demanded royalty payments for any use of this name in events and marketing materials. In 2023, the Korean Supreme Court rejected his claims, meaning that the band members are now free to use their name for promotion and artistic activities. ποΈπ€
