Let’s talk about this using the example of Rihanna, or rather Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who filed a lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, accusing him of illegally using the name ‘Fenty’ in the operations of his company, Fenty Entertainment. ⚖

According to the artist, her father implied that he was acting on her behalf — accepting, among other things, contracts worth millions of dollars 💰 without her consent.

📩 Despite repeated calls to stop such actions, Ronald Fenty continued to use the name ‘Fenty’, prompting Rihanna to take legal action. In her lawsuit, she sought a court injunction 🚫 against her father’s use of the name, as well as damages for false advertising and trademark infringement.

🤝 However, in the end, as part of an out-of-court settlement, the artist withdrew her lawsuit.
