British hotel giant Premier Inn has won a major trademark case against easyGroup, which owns among other things the easyJet airline. 🏆
The dispute concerned the slogan ‘Rest easy’ 😴, which Premier Inn uses in its advertising campaigns, such as the one featuring Sir Lenny Henry sleeping in one of the hotel beds!
easyGroup claimed that the use of the word ‘easy’ infringed their rights to brands such as easyHotel and Rest Easy Apartments. ⚖️
However, the court had no doubts – the average customer would not confuse Premier Inn with easyGroup brands. ✅
As a result, all claims were dismissed, and Premier Inn can continue to rest easy! 🧘
What do you think? Could ‘Rest easy’ really be confused with ‘easyHotel’? 🤔
